AP LANDS, SA
Phillips/Pilkington Architects and Habitable Places won an invited competition to design ‘housing for remote Aboriginal communities in Anangu Pitjantjatjara lands’. The housing design was developed as a flexible system to meet the needs of a range of users and communities and to accommodate changing numbers of residents. Passive solar design was utilised to maximise thermal performance with the houses designed to be robust and low maintenance. The integration of landscape and house with a variety of sheltered spaces developed on each site was a key element in developing a culturally appropriate housing solution.
Project Value: $0.15m per house
