HILLS CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY SCHOOL MASTER PLAN, VERDUN, SA
Hills Christian Community School (HCCS) was opened in 1983 as a non-denominational Christian school, currently with a Junior School in Verdun and Senior School in Oakbank. Phillips/Pilkington’s Master Plan for HCCS promotes a sense of community and identity for the school with the development of a ‘village’ model including ELC, Junior School, Middle School and Senior School. The Master Plan proposal responds to place, capitalising on the beautiful Verdun environment, and responds to the challenging topography and floodplain across the site.
The Master Plan proposes new purpose-built facilities, and maximises the potential of existing buildings with proposed re-configuration of existing spaces and building extensions to improve administrative and learning environments. Building developments have been staged to minimise disruption to staff and students and to achieve building works within the available budget.
