PLAYFORD COLLEGE STAGES 1-4
Playford College is an Islamic independent co-educational school established in 2017 in the north of Adelaide. Phillips/Pilkington Architects were engaged in 2019 to develop a Master Plan for redevelopment and expansion of the school. The College required new GLA’s and specialist facilities to meet Secondary Education Curriculum. Phillips/Pilkington were subsequently engaged to implement Stages 1 & 2, which included new Ground Floor Level Specialist Learning Classrooms and Breakout Spaces and Level 1 GLAs and Breakout Spaces.
The new two-storey building in the north west corner of the campus includes, at ground level, areas for Science, Art, Home Economics, a Staff Room, Store Room, and Lift, with 7 General Learning Areas
located upstairs. The redevelopment supports collaborative learning, with adaptable, flexible and contemporary general learning areas that embrace evolving pedagogy, improving connectivity between indoor and
outdoor learning spaces.
Stages 3 and 4 were completed in early 2024 and include digital and technology workshops, together with visual arts, an additional 6 General Learning Areas and student amenities. A new sports court offers opportunities for further outdoor learning and recreation.
Project Value: $11m
Completed: Stage 1 & 2 2021, Stage 3 & 4 2024
