Goolwa Beach House

GOOLWA, SA

This owner built beach house continues the venacular shack traditions of South Australia’s coastal communities, utilising light weight materials: corrugated iron for the base and fibre cement sheet for the upper floor. The skewed placement of the upper floor enables both the large entertainment deck and the living room’s picture windows to enjoy unobstructed sea views. Accommodation is segregated, with children and guests on the lower level, and parents and living/entertaining on the upper level enjoying a backdrop of the ocean.
