University of South Australia Student Lounge

UNISA STUDENT LOUNGE, CITY WEST CAMPUS, ADELAIDE, SA

The University of South Australia City West Campus Student Lounge project was developed to promote students spending time on campus enhancing their university experience and it caters for a diverse range of students from a wide range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. This design divides a large existing space into a diverse series of zones, each of which provides a specific spatial function with a distinct atmosphere.  Re-use of existing infrastructure has been maximised with minimal structural intervention and spatial planning developed to utilise existing services. The removal of existing ceilings enabled the creation of a series of distinct spaces each with their own character determined by ceiling profile, lighting, acoustics, materials and furniture.  The design was developed collaboratively with Interior Designer Claire Kneebone, to create high quality spaces with lasting appeal to students.

Project Value: $3m
