Tatiara Civic Centre

BORDERTOWN, SA

The proposed infill building to Bordertown's civic centre provides an extension to the art gallery and library and unifies the three existing buildings with a new foyer. The infill rationalises the plan and floor levels providing ramp or lift access to the council offices, council chambers, activity hall, theatre, library and art gallery. The new building bridges between an existing heritage Institute Hall and the existing two-storey council building. The new facade mediates between these diverse buildings but retains its own modern identity through the use of set backs, gaps, scale and materials.
