AN GORTA MOR, MEMORIAL TO THE GREAT IRISH FAMINE, HYDE PARK BARRACKS, SYDNEY, NSW

Commissioned and funded by the Irish community through the Historic Houses Trust of New South Wales, this work commemorates the Great Irish Famine of 1848 and the subsequent migration of Irish people, especially orphan girls who were housed in Hyde Park Barracks, now a museum. The work was documented in collaboration with Phillips/Pilkington Architects in Adelaide and project managed by Tonkin Zuhlaika Architects in Sydney.
